Approval does not guarantee selection at the store level.

If approved, your organization will be placed on a list for selection consideration in future months. If chosen, your organization will be notified directly prior to the start of the benefiting month.

The purpose of the Fight Hunger bag program is to support the aims of King Soopers’ and City Market’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste initiative: helping to end hunger and eliminate waste in local communities. Organizations selected to participate in this program will align with these goals and be important to the communities local to stores where the bags are sold. In addition, to be considered for the Fight Hunger bag program, organizations must meet all the guidelines listed below. King Soopers and City Market have full discretion to determine which organizations will receive funds.

To qualify for consideration, benefiting organizations must:

• Be local to a King Soopers or City Market store.
• Commit to using funds raised to support hunger relief efforts within the local King Soopers or City Market community.
• Have a clear focus in stated mission to impact hunger relief.
• Have a passionate desire to connect to the local community.

Requests that will not qualify:

• Events/Fundraisers/Services that benefit a for-profit business.
• Events/Fundraisers limited to specific individuals or families.
• Political organizations or lobbying groups.
• Religious organizations (except where a food pantry is involved).
• Private clubs.
• Requests to support expenses related to fundraisers/events.
• Any organization that discriminates on the basis of gender, race, ethnicity, religion and/or sexual orientation.
• Any organization that does not put 100% of the donations toward supporting the local community.
